The property was designed by the world-famous Greek architect Nicos Valsamakis as a place to spend a uniquely rewarding time in dialogue with the natural, architectural and art environment. Valsamakis is renowned for his mastering of volumes and lights, pure design, sympathy for nature, and this combined with the owners’ elegant and simple aesthetics has given birth to this unique and very private property.

Al fresco living happens on the large terraces sheltered by a wide white pergola. The 25×5 metre pool is (half Olympic size) is furnished with Paola Lenti sun loungers, and under the large pergola a long outside dining table accommodates 16 guests for perfect al fresco dining. The elegant Minutti table and chairs fit in perfectly with the minimal design of the house. The separate outdoor BBQ area allows for chef level grilling with a great view over Despotiko, while from the vast, open sky above, the sun and the moon are reflected in the pool, and star-gazers can see the entire Milky Way arching down onto the opposite island of Folegandros.

Arrangements of very comfortable Scandinavian designed armchairs with large coffee tables offer spots to meet, socialise or simply enjoy the spectacular views through the day and night. Watching the sun setting over the island of Sifnos while listening to beautiful music and having an Aperitivo is the one of the most exquisite moments of the day.

Within a 15-minute walk or just a short drive through the private grounds is a small, secluded pebble beach. From thre you can swim along the tall vertical cliffs of the property’s grounds and explore the impressive caves, rock and arch formations to Epitafios beach.

NB – Special precaution for children under 10 years of age is required because of the steep drops and the unprotected swimming pool.

ACCOMMODATION
The Main House; Sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms

The large entrance hallway opens up to the stunning open-plan high-ceiling living and dining area dominated by ten French windows creating a 270° view onto the terrace, the Aegean Sea, the Despotiko Bay, the mountain cliffs and the Southern Cycladic island chain. There is an indescribable feeling of light and space. The back wall orchestrates an explosion of colours with the huge, dramatic and colourful painting of one of Greece’s most notable post-war artists and academic Panayotis Tetsis, the ”Laiki Agora”.

The sitting area is elegantly arranged around a large fireplace offering a particularly peaceful and calm ambiance all year round, but especially in spring and autumn, when the nights can be cooler. The dining area seats 14 people around a specially designed long timber table.
The very large and fully assorted kitchen features a centre island as a breakfast bar, buffet or simply a gathering space. All appliances – by Miele, Zwilling, SMEG, Philips etc – have been chosen for their high-end quality and ease of use. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large pantry with ample storage, drinks fridge and ice maker. On the same side is the guest cloakroom and bathroom.

On the other side of the hallway are the master quarters with a library room including a standing desk, the printer station, a large flat screen LG OLED TV and a Bang & Olufsen Soundbar.

Bedroom 1
The very generous Master Bedroom features a 180cmx210cm super king size bed and a painting of Costas Tsoclis, another famous Greek post-war contemporary artist. It offers stunning views of the Epithafios Caves and of the Aegean Sea and opens to its own large terrace ideal for a private breakfast or quiet sundowner. The Master Suite includes a large dressing room and the en-suite bathroom with walk in shower.

The Guest Quarters
From the main hallway you can reach four additional bedrooms through a corridor featuring a collection of black and white photographs.

Bedroom 2 has a king sized (180x210cm) bed
Bedroom 3 has 2 x twin (90x210cm) beds.
Both Bedroom 2 and 3 have their own private terrace, an en-suite bathroom with walk in shower and a large wardrobe. They can be interconnected via an internal door for parents with children or children and a nanny.

At the end of the hallway you’ll find a beautiful private courtyard with a table seating 14 and a set of comfortable Scandinavian design armchairs offering yet another stunning view of the island and the Bay of Despotiko. When seated there, sunsets are simply magical.
This area also serves as an additional area of entertainment for games or a calm summer movie night as it is equipped with a state-of-the-art ceiling suspended projector and cinema screen.

On the other side of the courtyard are bedrooms 4 and 5 with impressive views of the Bay of Despotiko, both furnished with king sized double beds (180x210cm) and en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, wardrobe closets and their own private terraces with unique views.

The Guest House; Sleeps 4 in two bedrooms:

A separate Guest House, 20m away from the main building offers more privacy with two additional Bedrooms 6 and 7 featuring a king sized double (180x210cm) and 2 twin single beds (2x90x210cm) each with their own en-suite bathrooms and walk-in showers. A small kitchenette allows you to prepare light meals to enjoy on the large terrace with its magnificent cave views.
Arrange for a picnic basket to spend the day and end it at the picturesque ancient Apollo Temple for the sunset.

Staff quarters and Service areas
Service areas include a laundry and – non-guest accessible – storage, IT and technical rooms.

Pounta is a 10 minutes’ drive to Paros Airport connecting to Athens and some international destinations

ABOUT ANTIPAROS, GREECE

Despite being so close to Paros, Antiparos is not so crowded but has a cosmopolitan character. It is the ideal greek island for laid-back holidays away from the hustle and the bustle. The island is famous for its beaches, so swimming is one of the best things to do in Antiparos and most of them are within walking distance of Chora, the island’s capital.

• A 5-minute drive from the property leads to the small jetty of Agios Georgios where day boats can pick up guests to go on trips to the beautiful uninhabited island of Despotiko with its pristine waters, private bays, sandy beaches, intimate coves, and hiking trails. Arrange for a picnic basket to spend the day and end it at the picturesque ancient Apollo Temple for the sunset.
• Windsurfing, scuba diving, paddling, kayaking and sailing are available on the island of Antiparos.
• The Antiparos-Paros channel attracts world-class kite and windsurfers as it provides for a uniquely suitable breeze and a swell-protected sea.
• The property does not provide boats/kayaks/sailing lasers etc but these can be arranged on request.
