The Insider Experience
Dining & Drinks
For an easy, very Parikia kind of evening: head toward the lanes near the Frankish Castle, then settle in for a cocktail at a sunset spot tucked close to the Kastro. The light is the main event here, and the atmosphere feels local even when the island is busy.
If you prefer to dine like a regular, go a little later and choose places set back from the waterfront rush. Parikia rewards the unhurried approach, especially when you can linger, then walk it off through the old lanes back to the car or your driver.
Culture & Strolling
Walk the Market Street (Agora) early, before the day heats up and before the crowds find their stride. You’ll see Parikia as it actually functions, shopkeepers opening up, quiet corners, a more lived-in beauty.
For a cultural reset, visit the Panagia Ekatontapiliani church when it’s quiet, ideally in the morning or late afternoon. It’s one of those places that changes your pace immediately: cool stone, soft light, and a sense of depth that contrasts nicely with the beach rhythm.
