Built-in 1618, Casa Splendour is a late Renaissance manor and an authentic piece of Mallorcan history. Situated right in the centre of exclusive and pretty Deia, the property overlooks the Mediterranean Sea with the Tramuntana mountains as its backdrop. Traditional Mallorcan character has been carefully preserved in the villa’s restoration and is the only house in the historic centre of Deià with an interior courtyard – a common feature in ancient Mediterranean and Middle Eastern construction.
On the main floor, there is a living room and a fully equipped kitchen with state-of-the-art Neff appliances including induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer.
On the first floor, there is a library with a good-sized worktable and a large living room with a fireplace and ocean view.
There are 4 bedrooms in total, three with double beds and access to a terrace, and one with two single beds. All have ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning and heating. Two of the bathrooms have a bathtub in addition to a shower. The house offers an additional water closet on the ground floor.
At the back of the house, with spectacular mountain views, there is a romantic garden surrounded by agapanthus, rose bushes, and lavender. Here there is an outdoor shower, a 4×3 metre pool to cool off in.
The property also boasts its own oil mill, or “tafona” in Mallorcan, one of the oldest and best-preserved in Mallorca.
ABOUT THE AREA
Deia is a picturesque town located on the dramatic west coast of Mallorca’s mountainous side of the island, a world heritage site location. It is famous for its resident artists, the views, history and the charm it holds. Residents chose Deia for its tranquillity, the fresh sea air, its authenticity and its dramatic views.
Although it is a ‘travel through’ town nestled between Soller and Valldemossa it stands strong as a place to visit in its own right. The town is somewhat sleepy in the winter but from April to November it becomes one of Mallorca’s most lively and popular villages.
Take a stroll through the village, enjoy a drink on a terrace or visit the famous house of Robert Graves who spent more than half his lifetime in Deia writing his books. Additionally, this is the ideal place to savour great food and relax.
We recommend some not to miss spots in Deia:
La Residencia for a leisurely lunch on the terrace of El Olivo or a drink to take in the breathtaking view of Deia’s town. Sir Richard Branson lovingly restored this estate into what is now Belmond’s La Residencia with 70 rooms and suites and a gorgeous spa. With its own olive grove and oil pressed for the hotel, La Residencia is the place to go when in Deia.
In Deià you will find many restaurants to delight in, such as Michelin starred Es Racó d’es Teix or Sebastian. Nama Deia offers a delicious menu with an Asian flair and one can choose to dine on the amazing terrace overlooking the lower valley and coastline.
Cala Deià is a very beautiful small shingle beach with clear waters and rock pools. It’s one of the few beaches on the west coast of Mallorca. Here you will also find Ca’s Patro March, one of Mallorca’s most iconic restaurants, with a spectacular view and supremely fresh and delicious seafood. We recommend you book in advance.
