About the area

The smallest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, Formentera is Ibiza’s little sister. Its crystal clear waters and long stretches of white sand beach lined with pine trees are great places to relax in boho-chic surroundings. Laid Back charm, quaint village life, and a hippie vibe make Formentera a great secluded destination.

Formentera’s restaurant scene is a gastronomical delight, with many excellent restaurants offering primarily Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. Juan y Andrea at picture-perfect Platja de ses Illetes is a local institution and well worth a visit for lunch. Franceschino Manzoli is the Italian owner and chef at Can Carlos which has tasty food utilising plenty of locally grown ingredients. You can find good dining spots all across the 12-mile-long island, from the traditional tapas at Codice Luna at La Mola right on the very eastern tip, to sushi at the Beach Club 10.7 on Platja Migjorn. The streets of Sant Francesc, the main hub, also has a plethora of options and quirky spots to enjoy.
