Villa Malice

Villa Malice is a sculptural modern residence on the serene west side of Paros, where architecture, landscape, and light come together in a rare harmony. Designed by Studio Seilern, the villa rises gently above an olive grove and orients itself toward the August sunset. A linear axis draws the eye from the entrance through the estate, culminating in a dramatic cantilevered infinity pool that seems to hover above the Aegean. Alongside it, a bamboo pergola undulates softly like a wave, punctured by a single oculus that casts a circle of light onto the marble poolside lounge below.

The home sits on overlapping terrazzo platforms that “float” above the earth, enhancing a sense of levitation. Rustic mirrors along the pool’s base reflect the surrounding landscape, creating an illusion of suspended slabs and extending the architecture into its natural environment. Materials remain proudly Greek: Aliveri marble, traditional stonework, chiselled counters, sandblasted textures. These subtle details add complexity without disturbing the purity of the setting, allowing the island’s light, wind, and energy to guide the mood of the house.

While the design is extraordinary, the location completes the experience. Makria Miti, one of Paros’ most coveted coastal enclaves, lies just a two-minute walk away.
