Here’s our step-by-step process for how to book a ski holiday in the french alps with Insider Villas. We’ll cover everything from choosing your private chalet, planning bespoke extras, and ensuring seamless travel.

Chalets Belvédère is an expansive property with a private cinema, outdoor jacuzzi, spa treatment rooms, and ski-in ski-out amenities. Guests can benefit from an in-house private chef, transfers to the Courchevel 1850 resort, and a dedicated ski butler. 

If Megève is more your style, Le Chalet Megève manages to effortlessly combine rustic Alpine charm with luxury interiors, including eight expansive bedrooms, a private arcade, and a dedicated team of service staff.

Step 2: Send a Booking Request

Once you select your ideal private chalet, please submit your booking request. You can do this via our website, or by contacting us directly:

We’ll confirm whether the villa is available for your chosen dates and can suggest alternatives if it’s already booked. 

Our dedicated team aims to craft the perfect stay for your needs, ensuring no detail is overlooked. If you’re unsure of which chalet is best for your vacation, we can help you make a choice.

Step 3: Confirm Your Reservation

Chalets Belvédère

We ask guests to pay a deposit when booking one of our properties, as it secures the reservation and ensures nobody else can book it. We ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit if you’re booking in advance. 

However, last-minute bookings made within 60 days of your arrival require the full amount upfront. 

Please let us know of any special requests when booking your chalet. If you have last-minute requests, our dedicated concierge team will do everything possible to accommodate them. 

Step 4: Review Terms and Conditions

Before finalizing your booking, please review our terms and conditions to ensure you understand your rights and responsibilities. 

We’re responsible for providing our guests with luxury stays where no detail is overlooked, but we also have a duty to each private villa owner, ensuring that their property is protected from improper use and damage. 

If you wish to cancel your stay, you’ll receive some – or all – of your deposit back, depending on when you choose to cancel—last-minute cancellations up to 59 days before the rental period will result in a 100% deposit forfeiture.

Step 5: Pay the Remaining Balances

We’ll ask you to pay the remaining 50% balance at least 60 days before you arrive. Once you make this payment, the booking is fully confirmed and non-refundable should you wish to cancel. 

Most private chalets also request a security deposit from guests, which protects the property against damage. Please pay it 14 days in advance, via bank transfer or credit card. 

As long as you don’t cause any damage to the property, we’ll refund your security deposit one week after your stay. 

Step 6: Plan Your Extras

Step 7: Check Your Travel Documents

US citizens can travel to France without a visa, but if you plan on staying for longer than 90 days, you will need to apply for a relevant visa. 

Ensure that your passport is still valid and consider investing in travel insurance to cover you in the event of an illness or injury. 

It’s also important to remember that from 2026, US citizens will require ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) authorization when travelling to EU countries. 

Step 8: Arrive and Enjoy Your Stay

Step 9: After Your Stay

If there’s no damage to the chalet, we’ll release your deposit within one week of checking out. Insider Villas is passionate about providing a first-class experience for guests, and we welcome feedback.
